10 important moments you might have missed from Comic Con 2016
WE KNOW ALL about the Sherlock season four trailer and Brie Larson becoming Captain Marvel, but what else went down at Comic Con?
Here are ten of the most important reveals, trailers, and panels.
1. This awesome Doctor Strange trailer

Benedict Cumberbatch had quite the busy weekend at Comic Con – before the Sherlock panel yesterday, he introduced Doctor Strange to the world with a rather excellent trailer:
Harry Potter meets Inception. Or something. We’re into it.
2. Star Trek coming back to your tellybox

With a successful film reboot under its belt, Star Trek is returning to the small screen with a series about a new Starfleet ship, the USS Discovery.
We know very little about the 2017 series so far, but Comic Con attendees did get a look at the new ship:
Whoops!

3. Colin Farrell kicking wizard ass in Fantastic Beasts
This JK Rowling-penned film takes place in the same universe as Harry Potter, but concerns itself with the American wizarding community in the 1920s.
Eddie Redmayne is Newt Scamander, a wizard who accidentally sets free the ‘fantastic beasts’ of the title – Colin Farrell plays the wizard tasked with hunting him down.
4. Irish actress Ruth Negga was the star of one of the most talked-about panels

Negga plays Tulip O’Hare in AMC’s Preacher, based on the critically-acclaimed comic of the same name. To fans’ delight, the cast did a live table-read of an upcoming episode, PLUS a revealing Q&A. More details here.
5. The Justice League movie actually looks pretty good
After the disappointment that was Batman V Superman, fans feared the Justice League movie would go the same route – but this very cool trailer shows we have nothing to worry about. And yes, everyone is already in love with Ezra Miller as The Flash.
6. Rihanna is set to star in Bates Motel
In surprising but not entirely unwelcome news, Rihanna is set to play Marion Crane (she of the iconic shower scene in Psycho) in the final season of the show.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the casting came about after the showrunners discovered Rih is a big fan of the series. The more you know!
7. Wonder Woman looks seriously badass
Not only did Brie Larson get cast in Marvel’s first female superhero film, but DC premiered the trailer for the Wonder Woman movie. Girl power was strong in San Diego this weekend!
8. Cersei is the boss b*tch on Game of Thrones
The Game of Thrones panel was full of delights, including the above production teaser showing the crew preparing for Cersei’s reign.
It was also revealed that the next season will have just seven episodes, because winter has arrived (and they have to shoot in the appropriate climate).
9. Tom Hiddleston took a break from shifting Taylor Swift to promote Kong: Skull Island
From the looks of things, it follows in the footsteps of Jurassic World and Godzilla. With bonus John Goodman!
10. And Hey Arnold! is coming back
YouTube YouTube
Last but not least – beloved cartoon Hey Arnold! is coming back! The show is returning as a two-part TV movie picking up a year after the original series ended in 2004, with Arnold trying to figure out what happened to his lost parents.
We won’t see a bit of it until late 2017, so settle in for a long wait.
